Summary on the Schwa!
Many people can really relate to this book because at some point in their life they might have felt unnoticed or invisible. Which is just like the Schwa. The Schwa's real name is Calvin Schwa but his new friend, the narrator, Anthony Bonano calls him that for short. Anthony didn't even realize that Calvin had been sitting next to him in science class for months now. Until one day, Anthony was destructing one of his fathers maniquin for work, the Schwa appeared. After a while, Calvin and Ansty (the schwa's nickname for Anthony) became good friends. Antsy and his friends, Ira and Howie, decide to do a science experiment on The Schwa Effect. The results came out that four out of five people dont see the Schwa in the classroom, the boys bathroom with a sombrero and dressed like a total freak, and the airport terminal until the alarm finally goes off. By messing with the Schwa Effect it gets Antsy and the Schwa introuble with evil Old Man Crawley which leads to community service for twelve weeks. Along this journey, Mr Crawleys granddaughter, Lexis, comes for a visit and becomes very close with Calvin and Antsy. Throughout this whole book, Calvin is worrying if one day he is just going to disappear like his mother did. Calvin wants to be noticed and not always be the one who is known as the invisible one.
